Relevant Experience: Sharla began her career in the social services field when she was 18 working at a group home for adults with developmental disabilities. She then began working at a day program for adults with special needs in 2001 and worked for 12 years as a Direct Care staff ending as the Site Coordinator. During her last year as a grad student she became an Intern at The Bridge For Youth providing support and therapeutic intervention to homeless/runaway youth and their families. She was able to familiarize herself with the types of supports that are offered to families in crisis as well as building her skills in working with special populations and survivors of trauma. Sharla joined the Ain Dah Yung Center team in 2014 as the Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Case Manager.
