Relevant Experience: Claudia has been working in Non-profits for over 10 years; worked as a Case manager/Street Outreach Worker for 3 years with youth who became homeless and/or were in crisis situations as runaways; provided assistance with finding jobs, transportation, stable living arrangements, and employment, as well as getting connected with culturally specific community resources. She worked for 6 years as Youth Counselor with children ages 0-18 that were in crisis; oftentimes in unstable housing situations due to chemically dependent care-giver, being neglected, or sexually, physically, emotionally/psychologically abused. Most recently, Claudia worked in a Day-treatment Program as Mental Health Worker for 2 years; working with adolescents ages 11-17, who struggled with severe emotional disturbances and were at risk for out-of-home placement or hospitalization; assisted in the development of positive relationships between child, caregiver(s), and other adults in child’s life by teaching age-appropriate coping strategies.
